BYC enjoys unique perspective on sailboat racing. We have a casual, friendly approach for all skippers and their crews. For those that associate racing with yelling and swearing skippers, BYC will be a refreshing change of pace.
The BYC racing program is geared to helping skipper and crew members improve their boat handling skills and navigation.
We are planning 8 Club Regattas (e.g., Renshaw Regatta, Commodore Cup) (see racing schedule below). Out of these 9 races we will count the best 6 for the championships.
BYC will follow the rest of the lake and introduce 4 fleets to make the racing as much fun and as fair as possible. Furthermore it will make our own sailors more competitive in the lake wide races.
All our races are open for all the other lake clubs to enjoy as well, of course they need to let us know in advance about their participation and they will not compete for the BYC Club Championship points race.
After most races, social events are planned for you and your crew (or family) enjoyment.
The Commodore’s Cup and Chili Supper is held in the Fall and our Renshaw Regatta in late summer.
Everyone is invited to participate in the racing program. There are many ways to get involved; from race committee to helping organize the major regattas, and there is always a demand for people to crew the boats.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at the lake or e-mail me Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you on the lake and running around the "cans."
