BYC enjoys unique perspective on sailboat racing. We have a casual, friendly approach for all skippers and their crews. For those that associate racing with yelling and swearing skippers, BYC will be a refreshing change of pace.

The BYC racing program is geared to helping skipper and crewmembers improve their boat handling skills and navigation. This year we are inaugurating the Multi-Club Lakewide Distance Race program. It looks to be an exciting adjunct to our regular program which we will retain but have fewer races. BYC racing standing will be determined by a best 5 of 7 races from both the multi-club and BYC races. It should be an interesting and exciting combination. We hope you feel the same and will give it a try.

After most races, social events are planed for you and your crew (or family) enjoyment.

The Commodore’s Cup and Chili Supper is held in the Fall and is open to all clubs on the lake. Our Renshaw Regatta is also held in the Fall in honor of a former commodore, Bob Renshaw and offers club members the opportunity to engage in good natured racing with barbeque and beer following-just the way Bob intended.

.Everyone is invited to participate in the racing program. There are many ways to get involved; from race committee to helping organize the major regattas, and there is always a demand for people to crew the boats. Just click the Sign Up To Race Or Crew link to get the ball rolling and get on board. To keep you posted on the next months events, please refer to the “Bits” race chair articles.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at the lake or e-mail me at byc_rc@sbcglobal.net. Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you on the lake and running around the "cans."

See you on the lake.
